Madeline Stuart has proved herself yet again. This talented and ambitious young lady announced through her Insagram post that she will walk in New York Fashion Week for American label FTL Moda, in association with the Christopher Reeve Foundation, on Sept. 13
The model was discovered this May and there has been no looking back for her since. According to Cosmopolitan.com She will be the face of a new line of handbags that will be named after her for the company EverMaya. (five percent of the sales will go to the National Down’s Syndrome Society)
She has a great fan following across her social media platforms and is adored by fashion enthusiasts, teenagers and parents . She has a wide spectrum of followers as compared to other models. She’s not just perceived as a model but a young icon, rewriting the rules of the fashion industry and more importantly focussing on integrating and assimilating the disabled to lead a normal, healthy lifestyle like any other. Her sense of individuality and inner strength is commendable.
Her mother believes that the world is definitely ready for Madeline to be in the spotlight
“The world was ready. The world wants to be inclusive, it just hasn’t had anyone on such a platform that they were able to do it easily. I remember when I was a child at school, people were homophobic and things like that, and now it’s cool to be gay! Imagine in 10 years what society will be like for people with disabilities. It’s not going to be how it is now, it’s going to be the norm. It’s probably going to be cool to hang out with someone who has an intellectual disability because you know that they care more about emotions than they do about the materialistic world. Everyone’s going to want that friend to teach them what true love is.”
She dared to dream and strived to fulfill it, against all odds. We are all in awe and admiration of this young Brisbane beauty. We can’t wait to see her debut at the New York Fashion Week this fall!
