6 Designer – Muse duos who’ve weaved magic in the fashion world
1. Givenchy and Audrey Hepburn
The French designer, Givenchy and Audrey Hepburn’s collaboration may be long past but their impact on fashion is as relevant today. Audrey Hepburn breathed life into Givenchy’s designs in iconic films such as “Funny Face” (1957), “Sabrina” (1954) and of course “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” (1961).

2. Sabyasachi and Rani Mukherjee

Sabyasachi : “I very carefully plug my sensibilities into the important films of the year, because at the end of the day, somebody who has made me a super brand in mass India is Rani Mukherjee. I am still regarded as Rani Mukherjee’s tailor. Every wedding that I go to, I am perceived of as famous because I have something to do with Rani.”
Rani: “I can only say that I am very happy to have Sabya as my brother, my friend and my family. I’m lucky to know him and yes, he makes such beautiful clothes.”
3. Karl Lagerfeld and Diane Kruger
The German-born actress known for her role as Helen of ‘Troy’ believes that it was Karl Lagerfeld who gave her a big break. From discovering her at 15 in Paris, they have come a long way and share a personal, close knit relationships and are even neighbours in Paris.

5. Christian Louboutin and Dita von Teese
While one would not think of a burlesque dancer as the first choice for a luxury brand such as Louboutin, however the designer believes in Von Teese far beyond just her ability to turn heads and entertain crowds.
Louboutin: “Dita is the ultimate showgirl and top of my list of muses. Some people are naturally sophisticated and Dita’s sophistication comes from inside her.”
Dita: “Because all the shoes that I wear on stage that he made me are very special to me. No one else in the world makes a pair like them!
6. Manish Malhotra and Kajol
Kajol from being the most casually dressed, almost anti- fashion is today considered a fashion diva. He has designed and styled for almost all of her films and even at award functions and press events, he’s her obvious first choice.
