Bahubali is India’s costliest and grandest film till date on both budget and scale. The Beginning’ marks the start of a two-part series that makes up the entire Bahubali story. The film narrates a fictional historical story set in the provincial kingdom of Mahismati.
We meet Shivudu (Prabhas), a boy-man prone to jumping about mountains and waterfalls. He has almost superhuman strength that we witness. As the story progresses, in the province of Mahismati, King Bhallaladeva (Rana), a king who treats his citizens as slaves, has kept queen Devasena (Anushka) as a prisoner.
Hiding secretly outside the kingdom, a warrior gang is waiting to free queen Devasena. One of the gang members is Avanthika (Tamannah).
Sivudu is smitten by the stunning Avantika.
Setting off on his journey to fulfill Avantika’s duty, Sivudu moves towards fulfilling his own destiny as Bahubali and in process setting in motion a series of events that lead to the second chapter.
With Baahubali, Rajamouli has not only dreamed big but has also raised the bar of Telugu cinema in terms of film making values.
Major strength and highlight of the movie is high technical values.
Sound design and background musical score is one of the prime factors that have made Baahubali a great audio-visual experience.
Talking of the performances in the film, the casting of Bahubali is just perfect with every actor doing a brilliant job in their respective roles. Here a special mention goes to both Prabhas and Rana Daggubati, for some outstanding work. Tamannah Bhatia is superb, especially in the scenes where she plays the warrior.
This is surely recommended for a visual treat and solid performances!
